Last Saturday at Golden Gate, 3-year-old Jennakins was a “pulled up lame…vanned off” DNF in the 5th race. In fact, the Michael Larson-trained, Kenneth Waters-owned filly is dead from a fractured pelvis. This is horseracing.

Jennakins “broke in a tangle” then was pulled up lame after only one furlong…with a broken pelvis. It’s so tragic, but also so infuriating. Was the LIFE of this living, breathing creature who just wanted to live – like the rest of us! – only worth the lousy 10K she earned for the humans who put her at such risk?
RIP Jennakins, your servitude is over.
