Boccaccio Dead at Charles Town

I have confirmed that 4-year-old Boccaccio was euthanized on the track after breaking down in the 8th last night at Charles Town. At the time of her death, the filly was still being whipped at the maiden claiming level. This is horseracing.

  1. BOCCACCIO – during her very short “career” this 4 year old filly was forced to gallop at high speed, whilst being beaten with a whip by the cur on her back, when she simply could not go any faster, when at the same time her central nervous system is telling her to slow down which is nature’s way of protecting the horse. In this her last start she could’ve possibly suffered an injury on jumping out given that she broke awkwardly and was “bumped”.

According to equibase.com connections as of last start were –

    Jockey: Jose Montano
    Trainer: Crystal G Pickett
    Owner: Crystal G Pickett
    Breeder: Karl B Johnson Sr.
    5 starts for a total of $1,330

Another young innocent horse SACRIFICED for gambling and “human entertainment”.

REPULSIVE! and the industry has the audacity to invite people to come along and watch???

  2. Why don’t you put someone on your back and run around the track while being whipped.you people are animal abusers.money is NOT more important than life..hope bad karma follows you for the rest of your life’s.

  3. This sickens me. Other then publicizing it boycotting the tracks and telling others to do so as well what can we do about this? Can we get a bill introduced to ban horse racing? That seems so far out of reach. I don’t know what else to do …
    😓😓😓
