  1. So disturbing that this blood bath is permitted to continue.
I isolated out some horses from this list to review their PP’s which are, more or less, a rallying cry from these racehorses prior to going down in the dirt.
It’s important to note that the repeated failure and/or deliberate inaction on the part of racing commissions exposes this farce for what it is.
The “loving” and “caring” connections are living a delusion as their actions speak otherwise.
In the end, nobody is protecting these racehorses from harm, and/or death.
They are only protecting their financial interests which is what this game is all about: the exploitation of a sentient, non-consenting being for profit.
HANDFUL OF PEARLS: this 8 year old mare had a CLAIM WAIVER in her last race.
This indicates a very serious issue going on, serious enough for her next potential slave master to void the claim.
CALLI WAY: was a 2 year old in training purchase. As we repeatedly claim on this blog, training and running racehorses at 2 or less than 2 y.o. is a recipe for disaster as seen in this example.
NIGHT INVADER: previous DNF. Need I say more?
DIESEL ONLY: Originally purchased by Midwest Thoroughbreds, and then dumped into the claiming ranks when not performing. This is standard operating procedures as they continue to buy, and dump racehorses who don’t live up to their Stake standards.
HAPPY MATCH: here we go again with a disturbing pattern!
Purchased by West Point Thoroughbreds for $150,000, had ONLY 2 official works, and then ran him?!
It seems obvious that this racehorse probably had some serious enough issues going on that precluded him from official workouts which is a huge red flag! They only did the minimum required to enter the horse who was, more than likely, insured when he took that “bad step.”
The “bad step” explanation has been disproved repeatedly by reputable equine vets.
Yet,this industry still continues to mislead the public.
Happy Match was bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC which is owned by vineyard wine owner & attorney Barbara Banke who has spent billions buying/breeding racehorses, and purchasing farms including a private training center in Florida.
The notion that racehorses who are “royally” bred and run for multibillionaires are somehow immune to the inevitable maiming and/or dying is ludicrous, and plays out every day on racetracks all over the place as seen in this example.
Audrique purchased for $300,000. Did not live up to her price tag, and ended up in the dirt with an insurance policy most likely in place.
    Kg Miracle: Abuse personified!

Please folks, don’t support this modern day legitimized dying of racehorses.
It belongs in the history books, not in the 21st century.

  2. You Bettor Beware suffered a non fatal injury. Is now retired and will be sent to his owners. Stormin Tina was euthanized

    • I see the chart has been changed to “tired” for You Bettor Beware. And I see he’s NOT a gelding. Off to the breeding shed for him.

  3. Most of us here know that the Death lists are minimum at best due to private training centers and non-racing fatalities that are not reported.
That said, we must also remember that this list is only for the USA.
This is going on all over the world.

    UK
    http://www.horsedeathwatch.com/

This Death list is just as appalling as the USA, and Canada.

    Australia
    https://www.horseracingkills.com/issues/deathwatch/

It’s important to note that these Death lists are compiled from the “stewards notes,” via the FOIA in many cases.
Alternatively, the steward notes are considered public property since they are generated from a taxpayer funded racing commission.

    Horse racing KILLS racehorses!

These lists are heartbreaking to anybody who really cares about a racehorse or any sentient being for that matter.
This is NOT entertainment – this is a blood bath, and a freak show.

  4. Patrick, in case you missed it in the chart, Bradley’s Sunshine was euthanized.

What a terribly troubling list to read this week. Week after week, it’s the same thing – horses injured and dying. Please keep sharing.

  5. The NYRA is the only racing jurisdiction in the country who posts veterinary records leading up to graded stake races on their website.
This was generated during the time that lots of racehorses were dropping dead when purse money went through the roof as a direct result of casino funding.
    https://www.gaming.ny.gov/pdf/06.08.17.BelmontStakes.pdf

Multiple drug violating trainer, Steve Asmussen, has a very cause for concern IV prophylactic injection for the immune system?
    Is he at it again?

All veterinary records for all racehorses should be made available to the public until such time this antiquated business model shuts down.

  6. On May 29, 2017, a darling 4-year-old bay filly with a perfect heart-shaped star ran her last race at Mountaineer. Dewdrop’s Heart – owned and trained by Jay Bernardini for that race – was just rescued off the Bowie, Texas feedlot over the weekend.

Dewdrop’s Heart. Only 4. Another throw-away TB racehorse rescued just months after her last race. And on her way to a Mexican slaughterhouse, no doubt.

    • Thanks for sharing this information Joy.
It should be noted that the Mexican slaughterhouse uses a knife as the killing method.
They physically stab the horse in the spine attempting to sever it – can you imagine the horror of this process?
There are many underground videos on YouTube that show racehorses in the kill box being stabbed to death.
This is the truth behind the fancy hats, mint juleps, and “entertainment” banner.
All of this going on while this business boasts about its record sales, and wagering profits in the billions.
