This from sunny Saratoga today:
In the 1st, a steeplechase, 7-year-old Fall Colors, says Equibase, “led early on in the two path, failed to jump falling heavily over jump two and was struck by three or four opponents attempting to avoid the stricken rival in what was a fatal fall.”
“Falling heavily…struck by three or four opponents…fatal fall.”
In the 8th, 6-year-old Munjaz “…went wrong nearing the second turn and was pulled up then vanned off.” Turns out, according to the Daily Racing Form, Munjaz “had to be euthanized with unsalvageable injury to left hind leg.”
“Went wrong” – dead.
