Six California Kills

From the California Horse Racing Board, as relayed in the Stewards Minutes…

At Golden Gate, following the running of the 8th February 11, Syndrome “expired while walking back to the barn.” She was three. Goliath’s Girl (reported on previously) “was euthanized at the scene” after falling in the 1st February 24. “The Stewards,” the minutes note, “lit the inquiry lamp to determine the cause of [the] spill.” The spill.

At Santa Anita, for the week February 12-February 18, three “fatalities” are listed. Two are disclosed: Tribal Fighter in the 7th February 15; Del Mar Darling (reported on previously) in the 4th February 16. The third dead horse was left unidentified. For the week February 19-February 25, another kill – again, unidentified.
