    • And racing apologists will tell you that does not hurt. How could it not hurt? Like you said -look at the force with which he does that! And it is not uncommon. I’ve seen the jockeys do rapid- fire, full cross -body or overhead swings to beat the horses. There’s no way that doesn’t hurt. I’ve heard trainers tell jockeys to “ light his ass up”, I’ve heard jockeys and excercise riders brag that they were able to beat a horse bloody.
